It was perplexing at the time. A 26 year old at the top pf his game, quit the game. MotoGP’s Casey Stoner decided he was home sick. He is now tackling 4 wheels via V8 Supercars. He will make his debut in the V8 development series. His first practice session, at Adelaide no less, resulted in an impressive 9th. Not bad for a track he’s never driven on before.
Pre Season testing for the V8 folks. I have no idea how to predict this season. All new cars (even though they look similar to last years), 2 new manufacturers (in Nissan and Mercedes), and new teams and sponsors. I’d say its hard to bet against the yardstick in Triple 8 Race Engineering, now with Redbull branding. Ford will again be right up there with Holden, you can count on that. Nissan and Mercedes are a crap shoot. I do beleive with the additionlal testing Nissan will have the upper hand. Can’t wait for the season to start.
All sorts of styles. To each his own. Left foot braking, heel toe, clutchless. What ever works. I don’t even want to know what brake temps are like on WRC after a tarmac stage. And only Senna makes it look so easy with loafers.
Ok, it’ll be nowhere near as devastating as the original R32 Godzilla, but Nissan is BACK. This is video from their shakedown of the new Altima V8 Super. I’ll wait on what Mercedes has in store before I pick my team for 2013.
