Deathlens x H2Oi 2012 part 1

This man has had to go through 40gbs of video and photos.  It’s been worth the wait IMO.  We’ll also post them in 2 halves.   Altogether H20i 2012 was an awesome time.  Still more pics on the way!!
Wagon fever.  So many this year. I THINK, this one had the WAGONE plate.  🙂

Mmmm, yes.  -_-

MAXWGN….Joe C from Canibeat.

Battle reday CRX.

Still not a fan of the new Passats but bags and beebs are persuasive.

S2k, creepin in.

H20i Meets and GTGs

The real attraction to H20i are the get togethers.  I did miss a few that I really should have gone to.  The biggest and best is the Outcasts meet, where everything non-VAG is represented.  The Canibeat meet also had a great showing.  TBH, the best cars there were non-VAG.  With the convention centre being shut down for the year, the main hubs were now the Taphouse bar on 45th st and Roses on 94th.  I don’t like stroking Geoff’s ego, cause it’s big enough as it is.  But his faux toes have been on the up swing as of late.  61 Images. All well worth the look. Via Mad Hatter (Geoff)

Huge makeover for this car…previously a dark tan colour.  Favourite colour of the week.
Legacy bretheren.  Same chassis, yet they look so different.
Shark nose.

Colour combo caught me off gaurd.  Never would have thought tan on yellow would work so well.

Fender on lip.  Bagged TTs ftw.

Copper dipped and clear coated. Favourite wheel colour.

Scraped.Crusaders. X Deathlens at OptionJDM

Last week a few of us made it out to the OptionJDM BBQ.  Sweet get together with a lot of JDM goodness.  Deathlens put together the following video for your viewing pleasure.

Stretch and Poke 2012: Fitted

We braved the intensely overcast sky yesterday to attend the first Stretch and Poke show of 2012. Having attended MOST of these events in the past it is safe to say this show has grown exponentially and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of that changing.

Oktoberfest 2011

I didn’t get many, but here were some of my favorites.

We are the Scraped.Crusaders.

We are the Scraped.Crusaders. More than just a blog.  It consists of a core group of individuals that have grown into more of a family.  Originating in Toronto on the VWVortex forums, with low VWs and the penchant to scrape lips anywhere and everywhere; the name is very fitting (though obviously not limited to VAGs).  I may be biased when saying this but, Toronto has one of the best stance scenes in the game.  Especially when you consider the frost heaved, pothole, salt ridden roads of Southern Ontario.  Rolling hard for 6 months of the year, then winter beating for the other half is a tough task.

While it was the cars are what brought us together, it’s the friendships that make us stay.  At the end of the day, friends are what the car community is all about.  Is it worth it to build an e-famous car if you don’t have real friends to share it with?  Fuck no.  With late nights in the shop, even later nights fixing cars on the side of freeways, watching movies, bonfires, birthdays, photo-shoots, meets, events, it’s money and time well wasted.  We’re sure many of you can relate.  We’re together so often we’ve even begun dressing alike. 🙂   The decision to make t-shirts was an easy one.  They were initially just made for the core group.  But for those interested, you can email scrapedcrusaders@gmail.com.  Custom coloured American Apparel tees FTW!!!

These pictures are something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time.  Some models (dude in purple hat, we had to pay to pose), some beebs, some e30 and some SR20.  Steve’s E30 has been on the mend for a few months now.  A spun bearing (after the first swap was done) turned this winter project into a summer project.  Having the first run around with the SR lasting only a month or so a fresh rebuild was called upon.   While primarily a stock SR, it’s got a manual boost controller and a big front mount to turn things up to ’11’.  All of the work including splicing the entire Nissan and BMW harness together, building custom coilovers and shaving the bay were done by the Dutchman; Steve, himself.  This is only the first round of  pics of this e30.  Expect to see more of it this year.

Scraped.Crusaders.  in search of the lowly grail.

Stretch and Poke: Stakes is High Part 2

Called upon the Berenz Brothers for part 2 of Stretch and Poke.  Enjoy.

Stretch and Poke 2011

Here is some coverage from the first meet up of 2011!

Spring Fling 2011 Rollers

The rollers we caught as the cars left Spring Fling.  Coverage of the actual show yet to come.  Our man Adrian had a pretty legit exit in his newly supercharged VR.  For more pics visit Mad. Hatter’s Flickr Photostream.

Spring Fling 2011

The Scraped.Crusaders. will be heading to SpringFling tomorrow. Man, I really should have posted this up earlier.  We’ll have stickers there, for anyone interested.

Stretch and Poke May 2011

The first Stretch and Poke event of the year exceeded expectations.   The venue was Downview park.  Coupled with an Airshow (more coincidence than anything) it was an awesome way to start off Toronto’s show season.  Luckily the forcasted rain was puched back to 6-7pm.  Allowing us a few hours to enjoy the show and the sun. Pics are from Deathlens off course.

DeathLens 2010 Showreel

All the new places I have been, all the wonderful people I have met, the memories that will never be forgotten.

2010 was a year to remember.

Special shout out to all those who offered support and helped me out time and time again.

Expect me to step it up exponentially in 2011, plans are already in motion to make next year just as, if not more memorable than this.

I love this life I live.

Cheers,
Matt

Oktoberfest

Last VW meet of the year.  I apologize, we only have point and shoot pics.  There was a decent turn out with a few cars I haven’t seen before.  Was glad to see Grandpa Vortex.

The dude is literally 70yrs old+.  I wanna be that baller at that age.    Nice to get this last meet under the belt before the winter hits.  Stock suspension and AWD donuts for me.  Hoping we get way more snow than we did last year.
